Delete your account and data — Bible KJV
Bible KJV (Android package com.omead.bible.kjv) is published by Omead Labs LLC · [email protected] · Privacy policy: privacy.html
How to delete — choose either way
- In the app (immediate): open Profile → Account → Delete account & data (shown once you are signed in). The screen lists what will be deleted and asks you to type DELETE; you then sign in again to confirm it's you. Your cloud data and your account are removed right away. A phone that never signed in has no delete button: use the email path below, or sign in first — signing in attaches the phone's anonymous backup to the account, so both are deleted together.
- By email (within 30 days): write to [email protected] with the subject Delete my data and tell us one of the following so we can find your account:
- the email address you signed in with (Google or email link), or
- the Backup id printed at the bottom of a feedback email: in the app open Profile → Send feedback, and the draft ends with a line
Backup id ········. Send that mail, or copy the line into yours.
We delete the account, the backup and any invite records, then reply to confirm the date. No account? The same email path deletes the anonymous backup of a phone that never signed in. It works for every version of the app.
What is deleted
- The cloud copies of your favorites, colors and notes, the chapters you marked read, your last reading position, your quiz answers (from app version 5.2), and the settings copies kept for each of your devices.
- Your invite records (Invite a friend): if you joined with a friend's invite code, the record your app wrote under that code; if friends joined with your code, the records they wrote under it. Each holds only a random identifier and a time. The app deletes them from version 5.1.8 (the record of a code you entered goes when you delete on the phone where you entered it, with no reinstall in between); the email path deletes them all, for every version.
- Your account itself: the sign-in identity, your email address, your name and profile-picture link if you signed in with Google, and the dates the account was created and last signed in.
- The deletion markers the app keeps so that removed items do not come back from another device.
Deleting in the app removes these in that order — cloud data first, then the account — and it deletes the account only once every record this phone knows of is gone. A record the phone cannot know of — the invite code entered on another phone, or before a reinstall — stays until you ask by email. If a step cannot finish (for example the phone is offline), the app stops before deleting the account, tells you, and you can try again; if some records were already deleted by then, the phone backs up its favorites, notes, progress and this phone's settings again in the meantime. Google then removes the remaining copies from its live and backup systems within 180 days.
What stays, and why
| Item | What happens |
| Favorites, notes, reading progress, reading plans, your streak and your quiz answers stored on your phone | Kept, unless you switch on Also erase this phone in the in-app flow. Uninstalling the app removes them. |
| Your app settings and purchases | Never wiped by deletion. Pro is verified with Google Play and can be restored on any device from Profile → Restore purchases; Google Play keeps your order history under its own terms. |
| Usage statistics and crash reports | Not linked to your account, so not part of this deletion. They expire by themselves (crash reports after 90 days; individual usage events after 2 months, while aggregated counts without identifiers are kept). You can switch usage statistics off under Profile → Privacy. |
| Your deletion email | Kept as the record that the deletion was carried out. |
After deleting
- You can keep using the app without an account — every feature works offline. The app then starts a fresh anonymous backup of whatever is still on the phone, under a new random identifier that has no link to the deleted account.
- Signing in again later creates a new account. Nothing comes back from the deleted one; the new account starts with whatever is still on the phone.
- You sign in again as the last step, whichever way you signed in. If you cancel that sign-in, nothing is deleted.
- If the app reports that it could not delete, check your connection and try again, or use the email path above.
Only want to stop syncing?
Choose Profile → Account → Sign out instead. Your data stays on the phone, and your backup stays in the account until you decide to delete it. Deleting a single favorite or note in the app also removes it from your backup on the next sync, so you do not need to delete the whole account to remove one item.
